Windows 2000 Dial-Up Installation

Follow these instructions step by step to ensure a correctly setup connection.

1. First, click the Start Menu
2. From there, goto Settings -> Network and Dial up Connections
3. Open Make New Connection.
4. Click Next
5. Select "Dial Up to the Internet"
6. Click Next
7. Click the "I want to set up my Internet connection manually...."
8. Click Next
9. Click "I connect through a phone line and modem"
10. Click Next
11. Uncheck "Use area code and dialing rules"
12. In the phone number field, type one of the following dial-in numbers:

14. Now you will need to insert your username and password
15. Click Next
16. Type in "Net-Port" for the Connection Name
17. Click Next
18. You will now be asked if you wish to setup your Internet mail account, tell this no, for now. If you wish to setup your mail account later, use one of our instruction sets located here.
19. Click Next
20. If you do not wish to connect automatically to the Internet, uncheck this box.
21. Click Finish

Congratulations! You have made the connection to the Internet. To access the internet, open the shortcut on the desktop to Net-Port and press connect. This will make the connection to Net-Port. After the modem is done making all of handshaking "noises", you can access the internet through the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop, or in the Start Menu.
